Erdogan reportedly welcomed the progress in diplomatic efforts, noting that the process had advanced to a significant stage. He also emphasized that any prospective agreement ensuring safe and unrestricted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz would contribute to regional stability.
He reaffirmed that Türkiye is prepared to support the implementation of any potential accord with Tehran and reiterated Ankara’s preference for resolving regional disputes through dialogue rather than confrontation.
According to reports, Erdogan stressed the importance of establishing a regional order where states do not view one another as threats, describing a “just peace” as one that would produce no losers.
He further stated that Türkiye continues to support diplomatic solutions to complex regional issues, including concerns surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, and believes that sustained negotiation can eventually yield workable outcomes.
Separately, reports indicate that the US and Iran have been engaging in indirect negotiations through intermediaries, focusing on issues such as maritime access in the Strait of Hormuz, nuclear constraints, and potential sanctions relief.
