SHELBY COUNTY GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES DEBRIS PICKUP FOR UNINCORPORATED AREAS FOLLOWING AUGUST 22 WINDSTORM
Shelby County, TN – Following the recent August 22 windstorm, Shelby County Government will collect storm-related debris for residents who live in unincorporated Shelby County from Monday, September 21, 2026, through Monday, November 30, 2026.
Residents should contact the Shelby County Roads and Bridges Department at 901-222-7705 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to request debris collection.
Residents should place tree debris along the road right-of-way without obstructing traffic, sidewalks, drainage areas, or other public access points. Limbs must be cut to a maximum length of eight (8) feet and must be separated from household waste and other non-eligible materials.
Residents who hire a private tree company or contractor are responsible for ensuring that debris removal is included as part of the contracted service. County crews will not collect debris left behind by private contractors.
Shelby County Government appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as crews work to safely and efficiently remove eligible debris from affected areas.
