Đurić Confers with U.S. Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers

Particular attention was devoted to the participation of the United States in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade. Đurić emphasised the importance Serbia attaches to U.S. participation in the event hosted by Belgrade, noting that Expo 2027 will provide an important opportunity to further strengthen ties between the two countries, both through the U.S. national pavilion and through the various events and programmes to be held throughout the Expo.

The interlocutors also discussed the next steps in preparations for the U.S. pavilion, including the companies involved in the project and the forthcoming stages of preparations required to ensure the timely implementation of the projects and programmes planned for Expo 2027.

The Serbian Foreign Minister also noted that Expo 2027 could provide additional impetus for high-level visits to Serbia and for more intensive political and economic engagement between the two countries.

The meeting also addressed an important milestone in the history of Serbian-American relations to be marked next year — the 145th anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty of Commerce and the Consular Convention — lending additional significance and symbolism to 2027.

In light of current developments, the Serbian Foreign Minister emphasised that Serbia will continue to pursue the further development of its Strategic Dialogue with the United States in a systematic manner, while strengthening the institutional framework needed to translate agreed priorities into concrete action and advance the implementation of joint initiatives.
