Utah Leading the Nation: GovOps and DTS Earn Top Honors in Government Technology

At the Department of Government Operations (GovOps), our goal is simple: deliver efficient, secure, and human-centered government services for all Utahns. Through our Division of Technology Services (DTS), we continuously push the boundaries of state IT to make government interactions smoother, safer, and more transparent.

We are proud to share that Utah’s state technology initiatives have once again received national recognition from premier IT and government governance organizations!

Earning a 4th Consecutive “A” Grade in the Digital States Survey

The Center for Digital Government awarded Utah an “A” grade in its 2026 Digital States Survey. Evaluated every two years, this survey assesses how states leverage technology to streamline operations, enhance public safety, and achieve policy goals. Utah remains one of only eleven states nationwide to achieve top marks in 2026.

In addition, Utah received a special Outstanding Achievement Award in Artificial Intelligence for our pioneering guardrails and enterprise deployments—including our internal “AI Factory” that empowers agencies to explore AI tools responsibly and securely.
